EXPENATURE
Accredited with the ‘Tourisme et Handicap’ label for all four types of disability (hearing, intellectual, mobility and visual), EXPENATURE organises outdoor physical activities (kayaking, canoeing, rock climbing, caving, mountain biking, multi-sport adventures…) and also offers personalised support for people with disabilities.
ATELIER BLEU CPIE CÔTE PROVENÇALE
For over 35 years, Atelier Bleu – CPIE Côte Provençale has been organising water-based and land-based activities aimed at helping people discover the diversity of coastal landscapes and raising awareness of the fragility of ecosystems. In particular, it offers:
- An exploration of the Mugel underwater trail (La Ciotat), accompanied by a state-certified marine eco-guide and diving instructor, which is accessible to people with sensory disabilities.
- An exploration of the Port d’Alon underwater trail (St-Cyr-sur-Mer), accompanied by a state-certified marine eco-guide and diving instructor, is accessible to people with all types of disability, in small groups, particularly for people with reduced mobility, thanks to facilities enabling access to the water.
Some of the nature walks are also accessible to people with sensory or intellectual disabilities; the guided tour of the Parc du Mugel and the guided tour on small-scale fishing are accessible to people with all types of disability. For all these activities, the fee charged is the same as for able-bodied participants. For groups, please contact them.
L’Atelier Bleu has also created audio walks in partnership with the Calanques National Park, for able-bodied people and those with visual impairments, at the Carrière du Loin site in La Ciotat and the Fontaine de Voire site in Marseille. The audio walks can be downloaded free of charge from the My Calanques app.
PATRICK BORÉ SOFT PATH
The Patrick Boré Greenway allows you to cross the city from the centre to the outlying neighbourhoods and La Bastide Marin. Entirely pedestrianised, it is accessible to people with reduced mobility thanks to adapted access points. This 5.4 km route, which is fully landscaped and secure, has been built along the route of a former railway line. Please note: the third wheel prevents passage through the barriers.
COASTAL PROMENADE
Stretching for nearly 3 kilometres, the Coastal Promenade links the small harbour of St Jean to the Port Vieux in the town centre. It is fully equipped to allow people with disabilities to move around safely along the beaches – including Plage Lumière, which holds the ‘Tourisme & Handicap’ label. Parking spaces for members of the public are available all along this promenade. Restaurants and outdoor terraces offer a welcome place to stop for a break.
THE JARDINS DE L’ESPÉRANCE
Set in a natural area covering 8,000 m², the Jardins de l’Espérance offer a wide range of activities related to the environment and gardening. They hold the ‘Tourisme & Handicap’ accreditation (hearing, visual and mental disabilities) and aim to create educational gardens that promote the inclusion of children with disabilities or illnesses through educational workshops open to all.
