Description
The association Les Jardins de l’Espérance is organizing a day of exploration to mark the 20th edition of the Nature Festival.
Les Jardins de l’Espérance invite you to La Ciotat for an immersive day discovering the natural area of Cœur d’Honoré. This exceptional site is home to remarkable biodiversity as well as numerous dry-stone walls, witnesses of a rich agricultural heritage, currently under restoration.
This day will be an opportunity to better understand the impact of invasive exotic plant species on the fragile balance of local flora and pollinators. Participants will also have the chance to get actively involved in a supervised removal workshop targeting prickly pear cacti.
Program:
Our meeting will begin with an immersion into the site’s natural and cultural heritage, taking time to admire the beauty of the surrounding landscapes. This will be an opportunity to better understand the impact of invasive exotic plant species on the fragile balance of local flora and pollinators.
We will then move into action with a participatory workshop focused on removing prickly pear cacti. This simple and useful action helps restore space for native vegetation. At midday, we will share a friendly picnic on site — a special moment to connect and recharge together. Driven by this collective momentum in favor of biodiversity, we will continue our work in the afternoon to complete the clearing of the area and further enjoy this magnificent setting.
