OSS 117: Cairo, Nest of Spies is a spy comedy directed by Michel Hazanavicius, released in 2006. The film stars Jean Dujardin as Hubert Bonisseur de La Bath, aka OSS 117, a French secret agent sent on a mission to Cairo in 1955.
Tasked with investigating the disappearance of a fellow agent and dismantling a Nazi network in the Middle East, OSS 117 stands out for his extreme self-confidence, arrogance, and complete lack of diplomatic awareness. Through his naive perspective and cultural misunderstandings, the film parodies 1950s–1960s spy movies while playing with period stereotypes.
It is a cult satirical comedy, widely praised for its offbeat humor and Jean Dujardin’s iconic performance.
