Organised by Les Lumières de l'Exploration, commissioned by the Société des Explorateurs Français, in partnership with Les Lumières de l'Éden and Ifremer, the Lumexplore Festival is the film festival for scientific and environmental exploration.
The Lumexplore Exploration, Science and Environment Film Festival invites the public to discover the fascinating world of exploration and the scientific and environmental challenges that are shaping our future. Through a rich programme accessible to all ages, the festival shines a spotlight on those who explore, observe and seek to better understand our planet and its still-unknown territories.
On the programme: screenings of recent films, meetings with explorers and speakers, expedition presentations, exhibitions, book displays and free workshops. The public will also have the chance to explore Patrick Deixonne’s boat and discuss the expeditions and research carried out in what are sometimes extreme environments.
The festival places particular emphasis on knowledge-sharing and young people, notably through the Lumexplore Junior Award, which enables young filmmakers to present their films alongside their adult counterparts. This is an opportunity to stimulate their curiosity, creativity and interest in science, exploration and environmental conservation.
Organised with the support and participation of the Société des Explorateurs Français, the festival thus offers a unique opportunity to learn, be inspired, meet fellow enthusiasts and gain a fresh perspective on our world and the challenges it faces.
