Lumexplore brings together all the fields in which exploration and adventure provide greater knowledge and a better understanding of our world, through oceanography, geography, the environment, archaeology, speleology, the history of our planet and its future, and other disciplines.
The research will be presented to the public through 12 feature-length films in competition and 11 feature-length films out of competition at the Eden Théâtre cinema, an outdoor festival with free screenings of 5 short films at the Simone Veil municipal media library, and free visits to three boats alongside the quayside (Jonathan III, Expédition 7è Continent, Love The Ocean), books, never-before-seen comic strips, free exhibitions in the courtyard of the Eden Théâtre cinema, in the Pénitents Bleus chapel and on the Berceau du Cinéma esplanade, free entertainment stands, a travelling planetarium, shows, a host of guests, meetings and conferences for exchanges between the explorers and the public. But the most original aspect of Lumexplore, and its main mission, is to open its doors to the younger generation by including them in the festival as film-makers, so that they can be involved in the future that awaits them and devise solutions for our fragile planet.
