Description
The Le Cri du Court festival is committed to promoting the art of short film by offering it a unique showcase in the town of La Ciotat.
Through a carefully curated selection of films that have won awards at prestigious international ceremonies and festivals over the past year, we are showcasing the talent and diversity of filmmakers from around the world. This initiative aims to celebrate creativity and innovation in the field of short film, offering film lovers an experience rich in emotion and discovery.
The opening ceremony will take place on Wednesday 20 May at 8pm, following a drinks reception at 6.30pm, with an introduction of the jury members.
The juries will watch 8 competitive screenings:
a professional jury comprising Medhi Nebbou, Elodie Namer, Yann Maritaud and Marie Ducret
a youth jury comprising 6 secondary school pupils from La Ciotat
a jury from the La Réplique collective comprising Marie Daguerre, Simon Gillet and Pauline Boireau
The closing ceremony will take place on Sunday 24 May at 8 pm with the awards ceremony and screening of the winners:

The audience votes to award the Audience Award
The professional jury awards three prizes: the Gold Crown, the Silver Crown and the Bronze Crown
The youth jury presents its award
The La Réplique jury awards the Best Actress and Best Actor prizes
Children aged 6 to 9 attending the children’s screening will award their prize: the Le Court de Récré Prize
Schoolchildren will vote at each of their screenings: nursery, primary, secondary and sixth form, and a prize will be awarded for each category.
Children’s and school screenings
Competitive screenings for each age group – nursery, primary, secondary and sixth form – are organised in the run-up to and during the festival.
The screening for 6–9-year-olds, featuring a free creative workshop for the little ones, will take place in the courtyard of the Éden Théâtre cinema on Sunday 24 May at 10am.
On Sunday 24 May at 10am, children aged 6 to 9 are invited to a screening specially designed for them in the sunny courtyard of the Éden Théâtre cinema. This magical moment will be complemented by a free creative workshop, where the little ones can create under the guidance of a facilitator whilst preparing for an exciting cinematic adventure tailored to their age group.
This immersive experience will allow them to dive into fantastical worlds and experience captivating stories, whilst sharing moments of joy and discovery with other children.
Musical aperitifs:
Every evening between 6.30 pm and 8 pm, there will be a musical aperitif in the courtyard of the Éden Théâtre, where audiences can relax with a drink and listen to music between screenings!
