  • The Le Cri du Court festival is committed to promoting the art of short film by offering it a unique showcase in the town of La Ciotat.

    Through a careful selection of films that have won awards at prestigious international festivals and ceremonies over the past year, we are highlighting the talent and diversity of filmmakers from around the world. The aim of this initiative is to celebrate creativity and innovation in the field of short film, offering cinema-goers an experience rich in emotion and discovery.

    The opening ceremony will take place on Wednesday 14 May at 8pm, following an aperitif at 6.30pm, with a presentation by the members of the jury.

    The juries will see 8 competitive screenings:
    a pro jury made up of Nicole Ferroni, Cyril Gomez Matthieu and Nicolas Berteyac
    a youth jury made up of 6 high school students from La Ciotat
    a jury from the La Réplique collective made up of Aurélie Aloy, Karine Angeon and Franck Dribault

    The closing ceremony will take place on Sunday 18 May at 8pm with the prize-giving ceremony and the screening of the awards list:

    Awards:
    The audience votes for the Audience Award
    The Pro Jury awards 3 prizes: Gold Crown, Silver Crown and Bronze Crown
    The Young People's Jury awards the Young People's Award
    The Réplique Jury awards the Best Actress and Best Actor prizes
    Children aged 6 to 9 who attend the children's screenings award the Le Court de Récré prize
    Schoolchildren will vote at each screening: nursery, elementary, secondary and high school, and a prize will be awarded for each category.

    The festival also features:
    4 special screenings on Thursday at 2pm and on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 4.30pm
    One screening is dedicated to the 130th anniversary of cinema with a special screening of heritage films, 9 films made between 1905 and 1930.
    A session devoted to Belgian cinema in partnership with the Belgian Short Film Agency.
    A screening of Sudu Connexion.
    One screening is devoted to the Prends ça court! gala for Canadian cinema.

    Children's and school screenings
    A competitive screening for each level (nursery, elementary, secondary and high school) will be organised before and during the festival on Monday 12, Wednesday 14, Thursday 15 and Friday 16.
    A screening for 6-9 year olds with a creative workshop in the courtyard of the Éden Théâtre cinema on Sunday 18 at 10am.
    On Sunday 18 at 10am, children aged 6 to 9 are invited to a screening designed especially for them in the sunny courtyard of the Éden Théâtre cinema. This magical moment will be enhanced by a free creative workshop, where little ones can create under the guidance of a facilitator while preparing for an exciting cinematic adventure adapted to their age.
    This immersive experience will allow them to plunge into fantastic worlds and live captivating stories, while sharing moments of joy and discovery with other children.

    Exhibition in the lobby of the Éden Théâtre cinema:
    For the duration of the festival, an exhibition by Lucile Estoupan-Pastré and Denys Pastré will be on show in the lobby of the Éden Théâtre cinema, featuring behind-the-scenes photos of film shoots and actors on promotion.

    And this year, Sunday 18 May will be all about podcasts with Les Prods, Nathan and Sullivan.

    Musical aperitifs:
    Every evening between 6.30pm and 8pm, there will be a musical aperitif in the courtyard of the Éden Théâtre, where spectators can relax with a drink and some music between screenings!
