Saturday 11 July at 9.30 pm Ibrahim Maalouf & The Trumpets of Michel-Ange Vol. 2 Drawing on both philosophy and history, T.O.M.A – an acronym for The Trumpets of Michel-Ange – is a grand musical adventure that transports us to a world where folklore and modernity become one. As ever, Ibrahim takes on the challenge of creating music that is demanding yet accessible to a wide audience. T.O.M.A is, first and foremost, a fusion album, a true blend of influences where the festive and nostalgic spirit of the East is expressed with rare freedom. T.O.M.A is also the name of Ibrahim Maalouf’s new brand of trumpets. Designed by Ibrahim and instrument maker A. Jaminet in collaboration with Antoine Courtois of the French firm Buffet Crampon, Ibrahim hopes this new product will encourage trumpeters worldwide to take an interest in this small musical revolution. Finally, T.O.M.A is a grand celebration bringing together all generations, amateurs and professionals alike, and special guests! With T.O.M.A, Ibrahim lays the foundation for an ambitious life project blending instrument-making, French cultural heritage, education, albums and live performance – a project whose primary aim is to unite us around shared values. Sunday 12 July at 9.30 pm Tribute to Barbara Featuring Noëmi Waysfeld, the Avignon National Orchestra, and special guests Roland Romanelli & Christophe Malavoy Dis quand reviendras-tu ? La dame brune, Ma plus belle histoire d’amour, Göttingen… We all have Barbara’s songs in our hearts and minds. With her characteristic depth and sincerity, Noëmi Waysfeld pays a poignant tribute to Barbara in this version delicately orchestrated by Fabien Cali. Barbara’s work marks the meeting between Noëmi Waysfeld and the ONAP, an artistic creation that feels as natural as it is powerful, immortalised in a recording released by Sony Classical.
