Description

The House of Shipbuilding J E. Vence/L. Benet aims to research, restore, safeguard and promote the memory of shipbuilding in La Ciotat and the conversion activities of the naval site (yacht repairs).
Since September 2013, the town of La Ciotat, in collaboration with the association Maison de la Construction Navale J E. Vence/L. Benet, has been offering free exhibitions, lectures and film screenings on the history of shipbuilding, dealing with maritime activities of yesterday and today, to residents of La Ciotat and visitors passing through. It does this by means of: Exhibitions. Slide and video shows. Publishing works. Organising visits to the shipyards for schoolchildren and adults. Digitising photographs and documents from public and private collections. Participation in various town events.
