Welcome to La Ciotat. Carried on the wind, a voice rises, then another, and many more besides. They are memory; they recount the great epic of La Ciotat, between land and storms.
The sea watches the shore, as it stirs, dances, weeps and smiles. From shadow to light, the crashing waves and the whispering foam, good triumphs over evil.
It all began in the Middle Ages, in 1429 – the birth of the town, the rise of maritime trade, and the great visitors: kings, emperors, poets, painters and inventors.
La Ciotat, a land and sea steeped in history, belongs to no one. Always free and proud, ever stronger and braver in the face of the trials of time.
