The exhibition Le Souffle des Rivages brings together two painters from La Ciotat, Dany Leroux and Nadia Paret Garcia, whose artistic worlds engage in a dialogue centred on a shared horizon: the sea, light and the memory of the Mediterranean coastline.
Visitors are invited to discover a selection of around forty works that blend vibrant colours, reimagined landscapes and evocative depictions of the coastline. In Nadia Paret Garcia’s work, the shores take the form of warm scenes, bathed in ochre and sunlight, where the painterly texture captures the simple, luminous life of the South. Dany Leroux, for her part, explores a more poetic and symbolic approach, playing with the contours, transparencies and emotional resonances of the Mediterranean.
Together, they offer a journey that celebrates the fragile beauty of the seashore, blending energy, contemplation and a sensitive commitment to the landscape. An exhibition that breathes the open sea and invites everyone to rediscover their own inner shore.
Nadia Garcia
Born in 1960 in Essonne, Nadia Paret Garcia discovered painting over ten years ago, a chance encounter that became a revelation. Based in La Ciotat, she refined her practice through two years of drawing classes.
Her acrylic and oil paintings, imbued with vibrant colours and fluid brushstrokes, open up imaginary landscapes where memory and dreams converge. Each canvas becomes a space for travel, a balance between rootedness and momentum. Some of her works have already crossed borders, exhibited from New Zealand to California, via Ireland and England.
Dany Leroux
She grew up in a professional artistic environment, but it was only later in life, through her friends who were painters, that she discovered her passion for painting. Fascinated by colours and the alchemy of their combinations, she creates works imbued with personality. Her training began in 1996 with Hanna Ben-Dov in Paris, followed by lessons in 1998 with Patricia Taieb.
In 2015, she furthered her studies with Michelle Ballion, again in Paris.
A self-taught artist at heart, she finds in painting a space for freedom and expression.
Today, her works radiate energy.
