An art exhibition featuring Didier Locicero, Olena Klymenko and Oksana Svizhak. Three artists with distinctive styles, exploring themes of travel, light and emotion. On display from 18 to 23 May 2026 in La Ciotat.
The La Ciotat Tourist Office is hosting a painting exhibition featuring three artists with complementary styles, inviting the public on a true artistic journey.
Olena KLYMENKO
Having initially trained in design at the Kiev University of Light Industry, I have been developing my own artistic practice centred on painting since 2015. I work mainly in oils, acrylics and watercolours, exploring movement, light and the atmosphere of a moment.
My work is currently structured around several series: the movement of skiers in winter landscapes, the luminous atmosphere of beaches, still lifes created on newspaper — where image and text interact — as well as a series dedicated to the bicycle, a symbol of freedom and urban movement.
Since arriving in France in 2022, I have produced over 200 works and taken part in several exhibitions in France and across Europe. My paintings are now held in private collections in various countries.
Oksana SVIZHAK
She was born in 1986 in Lutsk, Ukraine.
In her artistic practice, she explores plein air and figurative painting. Her work addresses themes of home and childhood, nature, the environment and human emotions. Her works are characterised by a vibrant palette and experimentation with materials. Oksana always emphasises the use of the plasticity of light and form. To this end, she seeks new means of expression that convey emotions and impressions to the viewer. “Light is essential; it moves across the canvas, reveals the object and the image, and fills the paintings with depth and power. ”
She works with various media such as painting, levkas and land art.
A graduate of the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture (2005–2011), she studied easel painting under Professor V.I. Gurin in Kyiv.
Member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. Winner of the M. Deregus State Prize (2010).
She has been exhibiting actively since 2007 and has participated in numerous exhibitions and cultural projects in Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania, Switzerland, Italy, France, China, the United States and Canada. Her works are held in private collections and museums, including: the Li Ko Jan Museum in Beijing, the Adjara Art Museum in Batumi (Georgia), and the Korsaks Museum of Contemporary Art in Lutsk (Ukraine).
She lives and works in Kyiv.
Didier LOCICERO
Didier Locicero is a graduate of the School of Fine Arts and has been practising painting and drawing for over fifty years. His work as a visual artist draws inspiration from both his travels and Mediterranean culture, offering an original perspective on these worlds. His works, dotted with words, signs and symbols – sometimes decipherable, sometimes drawn from a personal repertoire – create a poetic space conducive to introspection and inner escape.
A proponent of drawing from life, Didier Locicero has produced numerous travel sketchbooks as well as jazz sketchbooks, reflecting his commitment to direct observation and the artistic exploration of the world around him.
