Description
Cibo di Strada, the unmissable event of the year for all lovers of Italian and Provençal gastronomy, is back in La Ciotat.
As always, street food takes centre stage: simple dishes to share with friends and enjoy whilst strolling through the colourful streets of the Provençal town of La Ciotat.
To fully immerse yourself in the Mediterranean atmosphere and to celebrate the links between Italian and Provençal cuisine, there will be 13 Provençal and Italian food trucks representing six regions of Italy: Piedmont, Emilia-Romagna, Sicily, Veneto, Campania and Lazio.
The food trucks will be delighted to treat your taste buds – there’s something for everyone: pizza, pinsa, parmigiana, montanara (deep-fried pizza), piadina, risotto and truffle burrata, ravioli served with tomato and pesto sauce and burrata mousse, arancini, panelle, fried fish, and a mixed fry (courgette, sage, cheese and herb ravioli), porchetta (herb-roasted pork, cooked right there in the square!), a medieval-style burger, an octopus burger, tagliere (Italian cold cuts and cheeses, impanata and caponata), tiramisu, bomboloni, ice cream, cannoli and Sicilian cartocci, a wine bar, spritz, limoncello spritz, prosecco, lemonade…
This 8th edition will showcase the cuisine of Campania (the region around Naples).
To liven up the event, a number of cooking demonstrations will be presented by Michel Basaldella, international chef at Le Grand Puech restaurant in Mimet, and Agostino Coppola, a Neapolitan chef and president of ACIF, the Associazione Cuochi Italiani in Francia (Association of Italian Chefs in France), who will showcase Italo-Provençal cuisine by creating special recipes.
From this year onwards, each edition of Cibo di Strada will have a theme; this year’s theme is Il Calcio (football).
