Capture Decran 2023 11 13 A 10.37.56The World’s Most Beautiful Bays Association is an international association founded in Vannes by Bruno Bodard, Michel Met and Hervé Laigo in Berlin in 1997. To date, it has 42 member bays in 20 countries, each representing a local authority with a seafront on an outstanding bay of the world’s coastline.
La Ciotat joined the association in 2019. The town had submitted its application, highlighting the main assets of the Golfe d’Amour.

This is the name given to an indentation in the land that makes up a coastline. Generally, it forms an arc of a circle, but sometimes it can form an almost complete circle!
Adhering bays must meet certain conditions, such as :
be subject to protection measures ;
have an interesting fauna and flora;
have outstanding and attractive natural areas;
be known and appreciated locally and nationally;
be emblematic for the local population;
have a certain economic potential.
