The town of La Ciotat has set up around sixty “toutounettes” for dog owners to use around the town. Bags are also available at the Town Hall reception desk and on request from the Tourist Office. In return, the town expects dog owners to show good citizenship by picking up after their pets. Picking up after your dog is a civic gesture, but failing to do so is an offence punishable by a €135 fine. We would also like to remind you that it is not advisable to empty the bag dispenser for your personal use (these bags are not intended to come into contact with foodstuffs). Think of the other dog owners who will come after you. The bags must not be thrown into the rainwater inlets, as they will then end up in the natural environment. They must be deposited in the litter bins provided for this purpose and installed on the public highway. See opposite for the various points where bags are distributed. Note that the vast majority of these distributors are located on the Voie Douce Patrick Boré and along the beaches.
