Votive Festivals

A rich programme full of surprises will be on offer in the old port of La Ciotat for the traditional votive festivals.

Friday 15 August
9am to 5pm: Free boarding with the Calfats de l'Escalet, departing from in front of Notre Dame de l'Assomption church
10am to 11am: Water parade along the beaches by the Calfats de l'Escalet
9.30am: Performance of traditional Provençal dances by the Escolo de la Ribo, in front of the church
11.15am: Procession from the church exit to the SNSM lifeboat and blessing of the boats at sea
From 5pm: Activities and demonstrations of life-saving and rescue dogs by the SNSM, on Escalet square
7pm: Sardinade by the SNSM (€15 per person - sardine and dessert menu), on Escalet square. Booking and payment on HelloAsso or on site. Information by e-mail at contact.la-ciotat@snsm.org
9.30pm: Les Barquettes en Folies. Competition for decorated boats by the Calfats de l'Escalet. Free, on Escalet square

Saturday 16 August
9.30pm: Grand Orchestre Alméras Music Live show, the 45th Anniversary Tour! Free, on Escalet square
The Alméras Music Live orchestra, directed by Christophe Alméras, is a benchmark in the field of music, both in France and abroad, for audiences and entertainment professionals alike. Today, the Alméras Music Live orchestra is much more than just a variety or ballroom orchestra. It offers us a real variety show with a highly sophisticated visuals and almost 15 artists on stage! Singers, dancers and musicians.
10pm: Fireworks from the sea
