Participants will learn about the brown grouper’s way of life, its physical characteristics, diet, anatomy and predators, as well as the threats facing the species (fishing, habitat destruction, etc.).
To make this activity both fun and educational, a treasure hunt will be organised on Grand Mugel beach. Pictures relating to the brown grouper will be hidden, and participants will have to find them using a map of the beach. Each discovery will be followed by questions to test their understanding of the facts presented about the species.
This activity will also help assess the knowledge acquired by participants and help them understand why the Mugel site has been designated a Marine Protected Area and a Marine Educational Area.
