Between bloodletting and purging, Argan, a bourgeois and authoritarian man, will devote himself to the imposture of medicine.
Adding to his stress, he must face the voracity of his seductive wife, the frivolity of his two daughters and, above all, the malice of Toinette, the maid, who will come to the rescue of Angélique's love to bring a happy ending to this fireworks display of deception and feelings.
It will take all of Toinette's imagination to cure Argan of his obsession with doctors and his tyrannical blindness.
