The exhibiting artists
Agnès Durdyn
A Provençal by adoption, she lives in La Ciotat.
She started painting as a challenge 14 years ago, alongside her profession. Stylist, designer, dancer, creating art is her essential living space.
Her abstract works spring forth like a dance, in a free spirit, with the intention of capturing the sensations, emotions and questions of the moment.
Connecting humans to the environment and to our much-altered nature is the basis of her work and expression. For the past two years, she has been exhibiting alone or in pairs. Thanks to this newfound free time, exhibiting allows her to give even more meaning to her work and share it with others.
Nature
For the theme of this exhibition, she has selected paintings of equal strength and energy, each conveying a different emotion. Take your time and find inspiration, let yourself be carried away and immerse yourself in this inspiring Nature.
Laure Escalère
Self-taught, she has always drawn, initially with a preference for portraits and black and white. Little by little, she began to play with all the tools in her kit: ballpoint pens, felt-tip pens, coloured pencils, highlighters... and to introduce colour into her world. She now paints with acrylics. At the same time, she has been taking life drawing classes for two years, while regularly sketching her surroundings.
Her paintings are colourful, as she wants to highlight nature and scenes from everyday life. She often works on small or medium-sized formats, as she is more of a detail painter.
Nature
Nature is a central element in her works, and she invites the viewer to share her perspective, hoping that the emotion she feels when she paints will spread to others.
André Lataguerra
André Lataguerra is known for his vibrant and luminous Provençal scenes! Based in La Ciotat, he draws his inspiration from Mediterranean landscapes and local markets.
Active since the 1980s, he excels in oil on canvas, capturing the essence of everyday life. His works are regularly exhibited, attracting collectors and summer visitors.
His realistic and colourful style reflects a deep attachment to his native region.
Nature
He chose these works because they perfectly convey the dialogue between nature and our daily lives in the South.
Magali Pierrisnard
A life that passes by unnoticed, and suddenly everything becomes clear, pressing, urgent: learn, paint, give!
For almost two years now, she has been thinking about painting and brushes from morning to night, stumbling, persevering, enjoying herself, expanding.
Her work is deeply inspired by the beauty and serenity of the islands, her origins!
The flag of her artistic territory would be made up of shades of blue, green and orange with a palm tree caressed by the wind.
Nature
Her paintings are an invitation to escape, contemplate and daydream, offering those who look at them a moment of peace and reflection, evoking both the gentleness and strength of nature...
Renée Simon-Laborde
Renée Simon-Laborde, a pencil artist, finds in the contrasts of values and colours that this medium allows an expression that suits her temperament. Her drawings, with their delicate nuances, create a serenity that contrasts with modern agitation.
Trained at the Beaux-Arts in Algiers and listed in the Dictionnaire des Artistes, her preferred technique of small strokes requires long and meticulous work, which she carries out on Bristol paper based on personal photographs. Sensitivity, delicacy, a sometimes poetic and melancholic touch, and a vibrant and disturbing vitality emanate from her drawings, demonstrating the unlimited potential of this rare medium.
Nature
For this exhibition, she has chosen two facets of her work, or rather her passion.
Her black pencil drawings are done on the spot and her colour drawings are based on her photographs. The works she has chosen are presented in their frames.
