According to popular belief, the taranti were possessed by evil. In order to free themselves, they would engage in convulsive movements to increasingly fast, haunting music.

The show by choreographer Angelo Vergari, a star dancer with the BNM who trained with some of the greatest names, is inspired by a return to the ancient folk traditions of the Puglia region of Italy.
The dancers will be accompanied by musicians who will lead the audience in a frenzied dance to the sound of traditional Italian instruments.
