La Ciotat, the cradle of cinema, saw the birth in 1895 of the seventh art from its visionary fathers, the Lumière brothers, and with the gentleness of a mother, the town cradled it in the setting of its luminous landscapes, offering its unique backdrop to the many films that have seen it flourish on the silver screen.

La Ciotat poster collector Guy Anfossi has honoured us with a summer exhibition of his finest posters from films shot in and around La Ciotat. From Claude Lelouch's Smic Smac Smoc through Yves Robert's Le Château de ma Mère to Olivier Dahan's Simone, come and discover or rediscover the most beautiful landscapes of La Ciotat and Provence, the backdrops of these iconic films.

Alongside the exhibition, Guy Anfossi will be offering behind-the-scenes quizzes on cult films and actors on Fridays 11, 18 and 25 July at 5pm at the Micro-Folie.
