Water as muse, the sea as brush.
Two artists from Ukraine meet in La Ciotat for an exhibition where water becomes a language, a breath, a fluid memory. -
One captures its elusive reflections, the other captures its light-filled landscapes. Together, they invite us on a poetic journey — an immersion in the ever-changing beauty of the world.
Viktorika Art, photographer of abstraction, presents a captivating series entitled Ce que dessine la mer (What the Sea Draws). Viktorika Art, photographer of abstraction, presents a captivating series entitled Ce que dessine la mer (What the Sea Draws). Here, the sea is no longer just a subject: it becomes an artist in its own right. Through Viktorika's sensitive lens, each wave, each breath of wind, each ray of sunlight composes a unique and ephemeral work of art. Reflections are transformed into abstract paintings, into movements of pure light, captured in the moment with rare delicacy. These photographs remind us that the sea is a living, free and creative force — a source of inspiration, but also a silent voice that art reveals.
Alongside these images, watercolourist George Rouge presents a series of works inspired by the Mediterranean coastline. In his luminous landscapes, we find the gentleness of our region, captured with accuracy and emotion. His watercolours gently dialogue with Viktorika's works, like a peaceful response to the murmurs of the sea.
The exhibition L'Art à travers l'Eau (Art Through Water) is an invitation to see differently, to feel more deeply. A celebration of water, light and the artistic gaze.
