Concert Jean-Paul Poletti et le Choeur de Sartène_La Ciotat

Concert by Jean-Paul Poletti and the Sartène Choir

Cultural, Concert, Polyphonic songs in La Ciotat
  • This concert of Corsican polyphony is particularly symbolic because the group, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary, is approaching this show as a journey that retraces all these years. They have chosen works that have left their mark and that have been emblematic of their repertoire.

  • The Sartène Men's Choir was founded by Jean-Paul Poletti in 1995.
Made up of 6 men, the group is constantly inventing musical spaces in classical form, nourished by the past but with contemporary inspiration.

The Sartène Men's Choir was founded by Jean-Paul Poletti in 1995.
Made up of 6 men, the group is constantly inventing musical spaces in classical form, nourished by the past but with contemporary inspiration.
The choir dreams of inscribing Mediterranean polyphony in the history of classical music, and today this is no longer a utopian dream. The choir has an atypical place in the Corsican musical world, with its classically trained singers giving a distinctive sound to traditional polyphony.
Sound and accuracy are their credo, and they are tireless workers. The group is constantly questioning itself, enabling it to move forward and make constant progress by exploring new musical forms.
Respect for the audience and for the great lady that is music is also the concern of these singers, who are always striving for greater perfection, not content with the black and white of the score, but trying to bring colour to it.
The group's different repertoires oscillate between the secular and the sacred, trying to convey emotion, an idea of the Corsican soul and the mysteries of this island, in short, what is invisible to the eye.
Since 1995, they have been performing all over the world and on the most important stages (Mexico, China, Korea, the United States, Austria, Belgium, Russia, etc.), trying to convey a part of themselves to the public.

With Jean-Paul Poletti, Jean-Louis Blaineau, Jean-Claude Tramoni, Stéphane Paganelli, Jacques Tramoni and Ceccè Lanfranchi.
