The Convergences Club invites you to another musical evening, this time featuring the artist Blue Hour and the duo Log Cabin.
Blue Hour
The Blue Hour refers to those few minutes when, in the faint glow of a seaside twilight, the sky and the sea merge into a single shade of blue.
Blue Hour is an invitation to a journey that is both sweet and melancholic. A journey into a bubble, within which voice and guitar blend together, like the sea and the sky, like two lovers lost in each other, like the dying day and the dawning night, intertwined in a fleeting moment of encounter.
Log Cabin
Log Cabin was formed when Victor Teyssedre (guitar) and Nghia Duong (double bass) met, sharing a love of instrumental folk and bluegrass music. Inspired as much by the vast landscapes of the French Queyras as by the North American Rockies, this duo offers music with a woody sound, perfect for journeys and introspection.
Album Premier Feu:
Shortly after the release of their eponymous debut EP, Log Cabin embarked on an artistic residency in the heart of the Écrins massif, continuing their creative work. The result of this exploration is Premier Feu, an album recorded in January 2024 at Ben Rando’s Éole studio.
Building on a bond strengthened by the residency, the duo enrich their melodies with improvisational passages and collaborate with artists Mervyn and David Benzazon (on ‘Pétrichor’ and the interludes) and Loïs Vacchetta (on ‘Maison Ocre’). The only track on the album not written by the duo is Sugar Maple, a composition by banjoist Noam Pikelny (Punch Brothers, Mighty Poplar) which Log Cabin chose to cover, adapting it for the two instruments.
