Exhibition The Christ of Ile Verte, 20 years of passion in the Church of Notre-Dame de l'Assomption

Dazzled by this particular work of art, Crislo undertook an original photographic project to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of its restoration.

The artist is offering the public this act of admiration both in the church of Notre-Dame de l'Assomption and in the Musée Ciotaden.

A number of large-format prints will be on display around the Christ in the church, and in the same place where it was exhibited at the Musée Ciotaden, where it was taken over by Mr and Mrs Bounatian-Benatov for restoration.

The artist will be at the Musée Ciotaden on Friday 25 April, Saturday 26 April, Tuesday 29 April and Wednesday 30 April from 2pm to 6pm to talk to visitors.

On Sunday 27 April, starting at 2.30pm in the church of Notre-Dame de l'Assomption, there will be a commemorative service featuring traditional Provençal singers, followed by a frugal snack.

The association Les Amis du Vieux La Ciotat and its president Jean-Louis Conil are taking part in the artistic life of the town by supporting Crislo, a contemporary photographer.

Her photo of the Passion according to Saint John, inspired by the Christ of the Ile Verte, was included in the Ciotaden museum after its exhibition on the Ile Verte. Its presence in the museum bears witness to the installation of Giambologna's work prior to its restoration.
